Professional Possibilities

New Opportunity for Professional Possibilities: Partnering with Sardis Secondary School

The Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce an exciting partnership with Sardis Secondary School for the second Career Day of the 2024/2025 school year, happening on April 30, 2025! This initiative is part of our ongoing Professional Possibilities program, designed to connect local professionals with students to inspire and educate them about the wide range of career opportunities available right here in our community.

For this Career Day, the focus will be on health, helping, and wellness careers. We are currently seeking presenters to share their knowledge, experiences, and insights with students. If you’re a professional working in these fields, this is your chance to make a meaningful impact by:

  • Introducing students to your career or profession.
  • Highlighting the variety of jobs and career paths within your industry.
  • Inspiring the next generation of health and wellness professionals.

If you are interested in participating as a presenter, please reach out to Lynette VanWinkle at lynette_vanwinkle@sd33.bc.ca.

An Ongoing Opportunity to Support Career Education

In addition to Career Day, we’re excited to announce another opportunity to get involved in career education at Sardis Secondary School. Beginning in March 2025, we will partner with Lynette and her team on a weekly initiative to bring industry experts into the classroom. These sessions will take place on Wednesday mornings from 9:40 to 10:40 a.m.

This initiative is open to business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals from all industries and is designed to:

  • Share who you are, what you do, and the job opportunities available within your industry.
  • Provide valuable career readiness tips, such as resume building, interview skills, and writing effective cover letters.
  • Equip students with practical insights and best practices as they prepare to enter the workforce.

By volunteering your time and expertise, you can play a vital role in helping students explore their Professional Possibilities, gain confidence in their future career paths, and build the skills they need to succeed.

If you are passionate about education and eager to support the next generation of professionals, we want to hear from you! For more information or to sign up, contact Leanna at leanna@chilliwackchamber.com
